The editing software I decided to use was Sony Vegas Pro 13, this is because the software is very versatile. I am also familiar with the software as I have previously used it, this allows me to efficiently edit and understand the ability of the software.
The other piece of software I decided to use was Adobe After Effects CC 2014, I only used this for simple sections of the video such as the stars and the clouds. I used this software because I have used it previously and I understand the capability of the software therefore allowing me to work efficiently and well within it.
Before editing any of my clips in Sony Vegas Pro 13, I went through the song and marked down every single time a specific beat is hit, this is because I wanted to change every time the beat hits, this resulted in a lot of markers on my time line but it allowed me to understand how I needed to position my clips.
I wanted my video to be in black and white, therefore I added a simple black and white layer at 100% and set the bend amount to 1. These setting gave me the black and white look I was going for, and I used this throughout my whole video.
I add two colour curves to my clips, this one darkened the entire clip and made the video washed down with a dark tone, I used this because I wanted my video to have a dark feel to it, similar to what my advert looks like.
This colour curves is based on the Increase Contrast preset within Sony Vegas, this whitens the whites and darkens the blacks, further enhancing the dark feeling of the video.
